Jumpstart Network ESL (English as a Second Language) program provides English language training to non-English speaking Marin and Sonoma County residents. The program has been in existence since 1989 and has served thousands of students. Instruction is free to all students; the only cost is a $25 instructional materials fee. Classes meet on Saturdays for ten weeks from 9:30AM - noon and focus on vocational English language skills. Volunteers serve from 9:00AM - 12:30PM, depending on the volunteer's assignment. Breaks include refreshments and opportunity for social interaction. Picnics and field trips occur frequently. We have two sessions in the spring and one in the fall, each with a variety of levels - beginning, intermediate and advanced. No classes during the summer.
